George Tenet's sniveling, self-justifying new book is a disgrace.

It is worth mentioning that the former CIA chief has come out with his own kiss and tell book, which is made all the more remarkable by the fact that Dubya awarded the man the prestigious Presidential Medal of Freedomfor his propagandic assistance in invading Iraq. Of what ephemeral stuff is loyalty made of.
Mr. Tenet's most historic catch-phrase is "slam dunk", as in the case for Saddam having nuclear weapons is a slam dunk. Tenet now says that this is a misquote. I forget how it is supposedly misquoted but who cares. Though, it's funny he didn't come out right away about being misquoted thus; it was kinda critical at the time.
In an interesting twist, that is worth bringing out, Mr. Hitchens has supported going into Iraq. As Hitchens argues, the problem was not really about going into Iraq but in the management of the war. But as for Tenet's startling move to join the party with the overwhelmingly popular anti-Iraq war voices, here is Hitchens's parting shot:
