Hoopla, Poopla

On my Friends Page, I see that another of those White House Correspondence Dinners is going on, but I haven't tuned in in years, no more than I care to watch the Academy Awards, or royal weddings for that matter. I just don't have the stomach to cheer on the rich and famous anymore. I just like to get cozy in my little cave, warming myself by the Internet connection.

None of my English colleagues @ work, cared for it either :) This was because they felt:
- the occasion was not for them (designed just to milk the tourists); &
- unhappy that they (the tax payer) had to foot their 30 million pound bill for wedding/honeymoon during a recession.

They should be used to paying for royalty - talk about a lot of overhead! Nothing like a nice little virtuous republic for financiers. :p
