I credit my conversion to Christianity to a couple of experiences I had with LSD in my early 20s. During those experiences, I felt the Holy Spirit come upon me, and felt the salvific grace of Jesus Christ flowing through me, and it was the most beautiful feeling I've ever had.

As I've told Poovanna, I am not untempted by the idea of going for a cosmic spiritual experience, but my sanity is so dubious that I dare not risk destroying it once and for all time. Literature and porn with have to continue to be my drugs of choice, and they perhaps have done a good enough job of ruining me, destroying whatever taste for reality I might have been born with.
