More Facebook Humor

“Remember five years ago when nobody was on Facebook and you didn’t know what the guy you took high school biology with was having for lunch? Remember how that was totally fine? Let’s go back to that.”

-- Jimmy Kimmel

Kimmel is asking people to unfriend those who really aren't your friends. I'm for anything that knocks Facebooks down a peg, but I appreciate that it's easier to like a person in e-life than in real life, and you can never have enough pleasant distractions. Personally, I could use a few more hotties to stalk, but unfortunately some of us cannot even measure up to others' e-standards - that's when you know you are low. It's a good thing I have these voices in my head to keep me company.

Heh. Why, incidentally, do we not have each other added on FB? :-)

I still remain free and at large from the FB empire. It's all I can do to keep breathing life into this LJ account. :p

You can do it, buddy - Become one of us. Join the dark side! :) At first glance, engaging in vapid, inane conversation may seem like a waste of one's time. But linger a bit & you will be drawn to it.

No more busting your hump creating perfect sentences for that perfect post. That's because Facebook doesn't care about what you write! You could only post what you had for lunch everyday, for a year, & it would still love you no matter what :)

Facebook doesn't judge.

Take it from a recent convert, it's totally awesome! Besides, several million people can't all be wrong, right? :)

Oh, but I live for the perfect sentence, in the vain hope that I shall write one someday.

It's not that I care about inanity, since I thrive in the stuff. I may join sometime, and if I do, I'll be sure to remind you guys about the friending. It just still doesn't feel right somehow.

Yeah, I share your concern about the idea of friendship being cheapened amongst kids today. The idea of being friends with hundreds of people is ridiculous!

Happily, I don't think this will happen! :) This is because:
- true friendship will always be valued; &
- my younger friends tend to use Facebook more to organize parties & other social events (it's less cumbersome than texting a large group of people).

What? I think you have me confused with Jimmy Kimmel. Personally, I like the idea of having hundred of friends, especially if a few of them are hotties who post pictures. One of the big reasons why I don't join FB is because I know I would only have a few friends, and not one of them flashing her boobies - it just doesn't seem like there is much of a point.
