The Debate community is trying to stir itself into life. It probably has less than a fifty-fifty chance of succeeding, but I came across a good quote that is attributed to Calvin Coolidge by a Debate troll:

Press on: nothing in the world can take the place of perseverance. Talent will not; nothing is more common than unsuccessful men with talent. Genius will not; unrewarded genius is almost a proverb. Education will not; the world is full of educated derelicts. Persistence and determination alone are omnipotent.

Ah, persistence and determination, the one thing I lack most...

Hah! Pretty ironic coming from a guy well known for mostly "sleeping on the job" :P (Go to Section titled, "Sleep").

Well, once you get the job, you can take it easy, I guess.

I like the part on Menchen:

H.L. Mencken, the famous newspaperman, said Coolidge was "a darling of the gods...No other American has ever been so fortunate, or even half so fortunate."

You just can't beat good luck!
