Along with my declining interest in the news, I have not cared to follow the ups and downs of the culture warriors, but I always had a thing for Ann Coulter. Maybe it is my weakness for long-legged blondes in short dresses. Besides, this tidbit is rather juicy.
She was going to be the keynote speaker for the next Taking America Back national conference, but World Net Daily has dropped her. Why? Because she is too liberal! Actually, her only sin is that she agreed to speak at a program sponsored by Republican gay activists, who favor gay marriage and gays in the military. As she puts it:
When people have less money and feel more insecure, they get meaner, especially when they are on the right, since they have a special sense of privilege and entitlement, since it's their country and we're just living in it. I’m afraid these are just the opening pages of this chapter in American history. I can only hope that I will continue reading about it on the Internet, rather than experience some of that joy myself, but maybe I have been a little too lucky for too long as it is. I do feel as though I am past my 'expired by' date and getting a little moldy.

That's silly, I speak to a lot of groups and do not endorse them. I speak at Harvard and I certainly don't endorse their views. I've spoken to Democratic groups and liberal Republican groups that loooove abortion. The main thing I do is speak on college campuses, which is about the equivalent of speaking at an al-Qaida conference. I'm sure I agree with GOProud more than I do with at least half of my college audiences. But in any event, giving a speech is not an endorsement of every position held by the people I'm speaking to. I was going to speak for you guys, I think you're nuts on the birther thing (though I like you otherwise!).It shows you the hyper state of our right-wing zealots, which is concerning given how they seem to be on the rise. Harder evidence of this may be seen in the increase of violence against Muslims in America, which is a situation that seems to have been aggravated over the national issue of building a new mosque near Ground Zero in New York.
