IRAN'S largest selling newspaper announced today it was holding a contest on cartoons of the Holocaust in response to the publishing in European papers of caricatures of the Prophet Mohammed.

Heh, would anti-Semitic art be a new turn for them? They are in an awkward position, though, in that the official line is the neo-Nazi one that the Holocaust never happened, but one supposes that logic and truth are not the issue. I just find this darkly funny in that the official policy of President Mahmoud Ahmadinejad is to have a Holocaust redux.
I see yet another amusing and perhaps more interesting possibility being presented. Maybe this can kick-off a world-wide round of blasphemous anti-religion mockery, with the Muslims knocking on the Jews, the West getting off a better round of art and derision unfriendly to Muslims, and others mocking the Catholic Church as well as pissing on Jesus.
Then the atheists win!
Honestly, I'd settle for peace and harmony, but that does increasingly seem otherworldly.
