Another Misunderstood Gay Republican Lawmaker

WASHINGTON, Aug. 27 — Senator Larry E. Craig, Republican of Idaho, was arrested in June by an undercover police officer in a men’s bathroom at Minneapolis-St. Paul International Airport, and pleaded guilty to disorderly conduct in the case three weeks ago.

... By Roll Call’s account, the officer said Mr. Craig had tapped his foot, in what the officer called a known signal to engage in lewd conduct, and had also brushed his foot against the investigator’s and waved his hand under the stall divider several times before the officer showed him his badge. After the arrest the senator denied any sexual intent, and in a statement issued Monday afternoon he attributed the matter to a misunderstanding.

Another Republican lawmaker has been caught playing in the gay closet. I don't know if he is of the ruling block that is adamantly against gay rights, but that would make it perfect. Senator Craig pled guilty, but later said that this, too, was a mistake.

I guess it was just a really bad day.

But, hey, when you're horny, you're horny! We've all been there, in one fashion or another, straight or gay. Though, we are not all shamelessly hypocritical about it.

xXx

Sen. Craig has consistently voted against gay marriage & gay rights. Yet another hypocritical creep.

Thanks for that info. sometimes I'm too lazy even to google.

It does make this humiliation perfect then. Poetic justice can be so sweet! :D

Although I suppose let's be clear that not everyone who wants to engage in lewd conduct under the stall in the men's room is gay. That's the difficulty I suppose with sexual politics. You're not gay in some people's books until you're flaming with a partner and want to get married. When you're hetero-married getting it on the side or claim straight status despite nightly trips to the bathhouse, it's a different story.

Of course, that's all part of the puritanical double standard we have in our society. But I digress.

Apparently, he has some pattern of this behavior, though, which I should think makes him at least bi.

The hypocrisy angle is the big play here, I believe. The fact that he is so anti-gay while engaging in gay play.

I suppose that depends on whether or not there is an objective standard for "bi." That was more what I was getting at is the definition of "gay." Self-identification? It's like religion or politics...who do we count? Is he being hypocritical? Ever read Savage Love? He just discussed recently the rise in straight men getting blowjobs from men even though they consider themselves fully straight. Self-deception?

I'm not sure I'm ready to throw out the H word though I see where you're coming from. I also understand that sexual identity is a tough one for people and that it is fully possible to be a homophobic anti-gay Congressman while enjoying a male hooker every now and then, let's say. lol

They've posted cops in Penn station toilets to watch us while we do our business. 1984 anyone?

I gather that some people were complaining of this old guy and his sexual come-ons, and the officer came to investigate.

I don't think this is so 1984ish. I know I would like to take a piss in peace.
