The San Antonio Express-News reports that this is the first time in fifty years that no part of Texas is in a drought. They also note unnecessarily that you can have too much of a good thing. The skies actually look fairly clear this morning, which is a little cheering, but I'm afraid we still have more of a 'good thing' coming to us, at least for a little while.

Well, I think it's the first time we've had a forecast like this for Sheffield all summer. The lack of rain cloud symbols is almost disorientating...!

This is beautiful!

I think our guys have been saving time and just putting up the same forecast for the past several months: scattered thunderstorms, or as if to show effort, isolated thunderstorms. Bleh.

it is so painfully, scarily dry here. we usually get a dry period in july/august, but we haven't had any real rain in months. fortunately we have a good well here at the farm, but the grass has long been dead and it's only diligent watering keeping my kitchen garden and flowers going.
hay is going to be sky-high this winter. i can't hardly stand to think about it.
i love the sunny hot dry days, LOVE them, but we need rain badly.

Now that sounds like the southwest that I know!

We've probably been sucking up your rain, along with the rain for the rest of the Western hemisphere. It's freaky. I thought we were going to need an ark.

It looks so nice today. Maybe you can have some of your rain back - I pray!
