“I really don't know whether we'll be printing the Times in five years, and you know what? I don't care, either.”

-- Arthur Sulzberger

Mr. Sulzberger is the publisher of the New York Times, and I just think this is a nice indication of how the world is changing. Forward and onward, brave new world! Besides, printed papers are so dirty, and you cannot copy & paste.

xXx

I don't care, either.

I'm thinking that's what may be wrong with the world today.

*chuckling* Well, the man is under some stress. The paper has been bleeding money. A big factor in moving completely to the Internet is that maintaining a print paper is a lot more expensive.

And better for the environment I guess.

But it's like books...I love paper. Having it in my hands, smelling it, flicking through it, having it stand in the bookcases...

Sigh...progress.

Oh, books are another animal entirely. I trust we will always have those! They are better printed. Books are property as much as anything else. WE HAVE TO KEEP OUR BOOKS!

LOL...yes!

But I love the sound of the newspaper when Sir moves on to the next page.

There will always be newsprint for one very good reason. You can't read a website on the subway.

Now making papers that fold easily so you don't have to keep bumping the homeless guy next to you? Priceless.

I guess there will always be a place for papers like The National Enquirer - for enquiring minds.
