Coulter on the Duke Lacrosse Case

The lacrosse players denied that any rape had occurred and immediately submitted their DNA to the state, confident that the DNA would prove them innocent.

It did: Not a trace of DNA from any of the lacrosse players was found on the accuser, though this girl had more DNA in her than a refrigerator at a fertility clinic.

-- Ann Coulter, "Stripper Lied, White Boys Fried"

Our Ms. Coulter is as over the top as ever, but she raves in an amusing way, and it does not hurt to get something down on the progress of the Duke lacrosse case, as we have raised the case before.

xXx

It's amazing how much a man's life is ruined after something like that, whether it turns out that he's guilty or not. A few years ago there were rumors going around in town about someone we know and even though he was never officially accused and later proved innocent (someone else admitted to it) he had to move to another town because he could no longer live at peace here. His life is basically ruined. There's a Dutch saying that says "where there is smoke there is fire" and people will always think about that when they see him. He feels that he is permanently stained because of this and I think that is very sad.

Hi! :)

The aura of perversion about sex offenses do seem to add another layer of social stigma. And, in our day of more awareness of the issues of women in our society, I suppose we tend to be more dismissive of the men's interests. We are still seeking some happy balance.
