monk222: (Flight)

Deep in the wee hours of the night, at around four in the morning, it was nice to have to shut off the ceiling fan when it felt a bit chilly. Though, I still did not dare to open the window, for fear of drawing inside a depressing swoosh of hot air.

Late last week, when it looked like we might get a storm, with thick clouds darkening the air and a light scent of rain in the breeze, Monk was outside with Bo and Ghost Biker came walking by. Biker smiled and pointed skyward, declaring that we were going to get some rain. In a joshing manner, Monk brushed that aside, "It's just a tease!" Monk was afraid that he was not just kidding, and that we would not get any relief from the drought, and he was right.

The heavy storm system just bypassed us to the south, without sparing us a spit of rain. However, the storm system broke the July heat discernibly this week, keeping us shy of the centigrade mark under cloudier skies and more breezes. It could be a little reminiscent of spring at times. It is not rain, but we will take it, beggars always.

xXx

Hey there! I was thinking that maybe you opened up a different account, and only telling a select group of your bestest friends. I figured that you couldn't really be giving up the blogging habit - it's harder than crack for we introspective types.

Good to see you back! :)

hi.
i was just throwing some kind of tantrum. LJ can get so old sometimes. I've got a Vox account now that's pretty dadgum addicting. But hardly anybody is over there right now.

Yeah, I was a little afraid of that, too. I've recently seen some touting of Vox on my Friends Page, and I was thinking you might be on that very site, honest. Your blog looks good there, a nice style.

As I told another, though, I doubt I'll be making the jump, at least not as long as the LJ administrators stay diligent about this site, and I expect they will be.

He has only been mentioned a few times. He's an elderly Anglo fellow and something of a neighborhood character. He talks with everybody - one of those extremely sociable types, as he has even managed to pierce my cacoon! He used to bike around here as part of a neighborhood patrol effort. One of those goodly souls of which there are pehaps too few these days.
