monk222: (Panties!)

An asteroid big enough to wipe out a small country is about to pass the Earth.

-- ITV.com

Okay, this is going to miss us, but it is coming in not much farther than the moon - what we galactic experts would call a near miss. And it is true that if this asteroid were to strike us, it could only take out a small country (I suppose it would be too much to ask for it to strike North Korea), so that it is not exactly an extinction event, by itself. Still, I am thinking this may be a warning shot across the bow from God!

I think this is a wake-up call, and we need to take stock. Let's face it: we've been asking for it for a long time now. We need to take this opportunity to straighten up.

I believe we may be alright if we just remember to love our neighbor and not just our neighbor's daughter. It is simple really. So little is asked of us. But can we do it? I think it is now a necessity. Or else!

xXx

It would be an extinction event, you know. The knock-on effects would be prodigious.

I was thinking it might take a rain of such asteroids to be that devastating - like what the dinosaurs took. But, to be honest, I'm not really a galactic expert. ;)

I think we galactic experts follow the language used on near-airplane collisions. Comics have had their fun, but I think the tradition sticks. I'll raise the issue at our next convention though. :p

It may just be God's little contribution to our July 4th celebration, in our fight against the dark faith. ;)
