Which is the sexiest: boxers or briefs?

Monk has been wondrously preoccupied of late and his mind is still elsewhere. However, he has had a rather impassioned debate with a friend over men's underwear. He cannot believe that many can seriously maintain that boxers are hawt, as he regards these baggy underpants as being underwear for old folk. She insists that this is not the case anymore and that they are really TEH HAWT OMG!1! and that Monk just needs to get out to understand this.

We may have had a similar discussion along this theme before, but it was contaminated by the newfangled combo boxer-briefs, and one wants to keep this question pure, being between boxers and briefs only.

So, input would be greatly appreciated, thanks!

Boxers are sexier, because they cover up more. To me, at least, it's much hotter when you can't see anything.

The thing isn't that boxers are so sexy, though on the right guy, with good abs...mmm... Anyway, it's more that briefs call to mind the image of a little boy in his Superman tighty-whiteys. So, boxers win by default.

(Though I will say that boxer-briefs take the cake. Yummy.)

I'll give you half my vote. My guy looks the uber hawt in his briefs. They don't do that "superman tighty whitey" thing, because they're black. And look oh so hot on him. It's all about the package though, that that will make or break the little boy look. And he certainly has a package that'll take away even the slightest thought that briefs are just for little boys.

But also he's got these boxers that aren't quite like "normal" boxers, in that they have the elastic around the waist and all, but the baggy material is of a softer cotton.. I think this makes it less stiff, and when he's standing in just those, and you can see.. package. *licks lips*

i am a firm believer that no male over the age of nine should ever be caught in tighty-whities.

that said, i'm also not a huge fan of boxers.

I think commando entails more risk for men, with all that zipper action. But maybe part of the allure is the danger...

I was a briefs guy until I, er, started being around others more in my undies. Rather awkward in a HS locker room when out of an entire team of 50-60 people you're one of maybe two in briefs ever. And then add to it that briefs with the ladies probably 90% of the time pause the action...mood killer when things are hot and heavy. "OMG, tighty-whities!" (in surprised fashion)

As a side note, a German medical study was making the rounds on TV this week earlier that a guy says thongs are unhealthy for women despite their ubiquity. Being a fan of good-old cotton granny-panties on hot chick, I won't complain. But it does say something that girls underwear has undergone something equal in the demographic shift.

You see, that wasn't my experience in high school. I've been taken surprise by this enthusiasm over boxers. The culture has moved on me.

So long as thongs are healthier for the sex life, I trust they will stay around - those quality of life issues. ;)

Well, it was at a school that I was the computer guy at and that goes against one of my rules. Secondly, she was good looking but a sleeze. A dirty sleeze that was such a turn off.

Thirdly, If I did say something like that to her she would have not only hiked her skirt, but would have done me right there. I wanted no part of that.

Hey, thanks for chiming in! It's nice to get one clear and solid vote on my side. Though, as with the 'package' comments others made, I'm not sure how well I fare with this. In any case, I'm afraid that I may be successfully converted to boxers. *sigh*

Hmmm... I never really thought about what kind of undies I prefer on a man. Hubby wears boxers, so I'm use to them. before I saw a guy in boxers I thought it would be a turn off but they do allow for easier acesses. there are many ways of getting to the goods they conceal that are not unconfortable to the wearer. Plus I love buying different ones for him. briefs come in different colors but boxers come with all kinds of different things. hubby has some with kisses all over them, a few pair that say "Monster Garage", one with fire works, and most recently a retro style one that says "Led Zepplin".
My vote is for boxers, simply for the fun factor.

And underwear should be fun! I'm being fairly converted to boxers. I expect to soon buy my first boxers, and I'll be interested to see the variety, heh.

But, according to me and every female I know, hands down boxer-briefs are the sexiest men's underwear. There's not even a little bit of debate. They are overwhelmingly the most flattering.

Yes, I'm finally a believer! It's almost unanimous - the culture has moved on in this, as in much else, leaving me behind. I'm being converted all the way to the other side, though, going to boxers. Perhaps, I'll gravitate to the elite boxer-briefs in the future though.
