Monk's eyes pop open. 5:30 is staring straight back into his face. He cannot believe it - not even six hours of sleep. And he knows that he isn't going to fall asleep again, even as he desperately tries.
At least the morning seems the coolest one in a while. He even pulls his T-shirt on. Though, it may only feel especially cool because the noons are getting hot. The temperature is seventy-one degrees, which is perhaps only moderate for the morning. But he is glad to take it.
