Meredith had urged Monk to try ground turkey rather than beef for his tacos. This was not easy for him, and he agreed wholeheartedly only when she accepted to allow him a five-minute make-out session, independent of their one night of love. Today was the day when he earns that tender affection.
Although Monk was glad to find these turkey tacos edible, they are decidedly inferior. After eating three of the four he made for himself, Monk decided to have one of those frozen burritos. He had just opened the package when the phone rings.
Meredith asks, "So, how were the turkey tacos?" Monk tells her that they were alright, trying to assure her that he gave them a fair shot and that he is receptive to them, but he also tells her that they really do not have the zest of beef tacos. He says, "They are not the tacos I promised you when we were e-mailing months ago while you were working."
She says, "They are healthy!" He says 'healthy' is not everything and it is not enough. Meredith says, "When we get married we'll always have turkey tacos and burritos." In heart-opening joy, Monk says, "If we get married, I will have no problem always eating them." He says, "It's a good thing you are so adorable." She exclaims, "Crazy!" After saying their goodbyes, he throws away the fozen package and finishes that last turkey taco.
Afterward, Monk has his pangs over how this was the call to have as a recording if he had the wherewithal. It would have been his to replay forever. She also sang a bit along with the car radio. Although she is not a singer, Monk loves her voice. He asked her to sing some more, and she obliged a little. In fact, what Monk said was, "It's a good thing you are so adorable and have a good voice."
