Still no dreams. It kind of bothers me. You'd think the Jack drama would really fuel up something. But at least there were no real-life dramatics overnight - no gang with torches trying to break in.

Fixing my breakfast this morning, I went through my last apple and am now out of milk. Arthudo has been gone for almost a week now. Oh, I have enough food to last me a few weeks, including cat food (for the cats), but ... it is disheartening to be running out of stuff.

Some news from Trump world. The Director of the U.S. Secret Service was fired. An administration insider said, "There is a near-systematic purge happening at the nation's second-largest national security agency."

Things only keep looking darker from the top. Trump also fired his head of the Department of Homeland Security, looking for a more aggressive, even more Nazi-esque approach on immigration.

The Republican Party is willing to let Trump lead America down this authoritarian path. The Democrats in the House are screaming and petitioning to get to the fire, but it's looking doubtful that they will ever even get to see the Mueller report. Even if they get the right-wing Supreme Court to agree with them on the need to preserve our traditional 'checks and balances' as provided for in the Constitution, I don't see why Trump would obey. He will just overrule the Supreme Court, and I don't imagine that the Republicans would cease supporting him - in for a dime, in for a dollar. Once you've gone this far, how can you turn back? That would only empower the Democrats.

Ah, the TV Guide came in the mail. I never look at the thing, but now I have something that Lorie wants. She hasn't cared to update me about Arthudo for a couple of days. I suspect she is on Jack's side, but she wasn't very reliable before our little conflict. TV is the greater part of her life, and she regularly came by to pick up the Guide from Arthudo. Maybe she will call now and I will get an update. I have been assuming that he is in his same unconscious state, but it would be nice not to have to guess.
