I am back to stuffing it in place, struggling to keep that gap covered. Life ain't easy being poor and dumb - and ugly to boot.

"Think about it: The President of the United States as the boss of a Racketeering Influenced Criminal Organization. POTUS as the Godfather. That it’s even thinkable is appalling."

"You must have the wrong number. Perhaps the wrong year." I'm still not completely over these fantasies of salvation, of Dr. G. calling, though the idea of 'salvation' at this point is all too meaningless, and despite my appreciation that there was no real way to save my ugly, lazy ass anyway.

The backdoor neighbor has been blasting their music all day, and now late into the evening. It occurs to me that life in this neighborhood has actually become pretty much like Sky Harbor. Remember, I used to always appreciate how the move to Bay Horse really improved our lives. We lost that happy advantage a long time ago. Life feels cramped and hostile. We live in the world of the dysfunctional poor. Pretty soon, Arthudo will be cranking his own music in the house. Why should I not be glad to say goodbye to all this?
