Grocery day went as normal, despite Arthudo's fall yesterday. We did take another step in making the chore easier. I got him to ride around in one of those electric carts. It didn't take any arm-twisting. He admitted that he had been considering the option himself for a while. I felt a little misty-eyed watching him. He looked rather like a kid playing with a new toy that he got for Christmas. We don't have the best father-son relationship in the world, but it saddens me to think that I am losing him. Well, it presumably helps that in losing him, I am also losing my own hold on this world, such as it is, such as I am.

I had the lights down low. All was quiet. I sat back in Arthudo's recliner with the headphones on, and pressed 'play'. Just as I started to listen to my Audible edition of "Story of O", Arthudo comes into the big room to wash a few clothes. They are Kay's. Maybe she stained them. Something like that. Since this is my first 'listening' of "O", I didn't want to have to compete with the loud hum and clanks of the washer & dryer. Oh, well, maybe later tonight, though I will be much sleepier.
