Supreme Court
Trump's nominee for the Supreme Court, an originalist, like Scalia, gave some encouraging words on equal protection in his hearing today. Gorsuch said, “When it comes to equal protection of laws, it matters not a wit that some of the drafters of the 14th Amendment were racists because they were or sexists because they were. The law they drafted promises equal protections of the laws to all persons. That’s what they wrote.”
No wonder there was some Twitter discussions on the part of liberal pundits whether Trump is still able to withdraw the nomination. Gorsuch might prove to be a pleasant surprise, or he could just be charming the Senate committee with sweet-nothings. Incidentally, the consensus is that, until Gorsuch actually takes the oath of office, Trump can drop him at any time, even after Senate confirmation.

Hand of God
Well, well, I was not disappointed by the final episode of "Hand of God". They didn't wrap anything up at all. Indeed, it looks like they were really counting on receiving a third season, and I am feeling rather disappointed that they apparently are not going to get it. Though, I seriously consider that there probably wasn't a good way to continue forward, so that it might actually be for the best that plot lines are left hanging in the air. I prefer this to lame wrap-ups. The idea of Lucifer coming to San Vicente is a bit heavy-handed. If you cannot come up with satisfying answers, sometimes it can be better just to leave with fascinating questions.
