A good rule on Twitter, and in life, is never debate anyone you wouldn’t save from drowning.

Chess and Shakespeare
Mar. 21st, 2017 05:21 pm"So, it's chess and Shakespeare this afternoon."
Yeah. It was either let go of chess again, or else force it into more significant time-blocks. And I'm not prepared to let go. Why not give up an occasional reading session? And since we will be taking up Shakespeare for our chess breaks, it's not like we are completely cutting out the reading. Sometimes you just have to make time for the things that you want.
"It's kind of a medieval theme, isn't it?"
I suppose so. It's a new experiment, and these things often go as suddenly as they come. But, umm, I'm feeling pretty good about it.
"Are you feeling 'Don Quixote'-ish, too?"
Heh, now that you mention it, yeah, a little bit. I don't really feel like digging out that book yet, and I didn't really like it that well when I read it about ten years ago. But I have been thinking about it.
I don't think it's the medievalism that is the draw for me. I'm just kind of fancying the theme of old age and losing oneself in a second, and better, chance at life. I am kind of feeling partial to that mood. Maybe I will like that novel more now in my own old age.

"Looking at cards again."
I just discovered that they have 'chess opening' cards.
"I thought once you got that case of decks, you'd be done with cards for like ... forever."
Yeah. That was before I got back into designer cards. And once you get into those, you can never have enough.
"Especially nudie cards, I suppose."
Well, that is always a pleaser.
"If you say so."
