Yard Work

At first I was annoyed by the noise of the neighbors doing lawn work, but then I remembered that I need to get to work myself.

Is it dry enough for that?

It's not.

The odds are good that I can let the cats out tomorrow, though. Maybe I can mow the back, too. Maybe. It definitely needs it badly.

This last weather system has left me behind the 8-ball.

Sammy looks out the window and sees all of that sunny afternoon, and he cannot understand why he cannot go out, crying out louder and longer, trying to lead me to the door.

Ash, by contrast, is more subdued, takes it stoically. But she also makes me feel guilty, for she has the air of a prisoner doing time.

If Coco were still with us, she would be following Sammy's lead, trying to help drive the issue. Have I mentioned how badly I miss her?
