Yeah, that really is too gay.

"Is there such a thing?"

While I was news harvesting, I was hand-cutting my Alchemy deck, enjoying looking at the pictures as they popped up, and then I realized that maybe my other designer decks might still serve a purpose. Of course, I was thinking about my porno decks.

"Of course. Is that the gay part?"

No, the gay part was when I went to get my nudie decks and saw my Elvis cards. I thought 'why not?'

"But that wasn't the thrill you hoped it might be."

Exactly.

That purchase is just a bust. They are not really very playable as cards, and I'm not that interested in looking at then as pictures. Twenty bucks burned.

"At least you have something to trade. Maybe you'll come across an elderly white woman who still gets wet to Elvis pictures."

God. I'll ... keep that in mind.

David Foster Wallace

"Knock, knock!"

Why don't you just ring the bell?

"Funny. Why don't you just wake up and say something?"

It's just been a wonderfully peaceful afternoon of cards, a pretty absorbing chess match with Robot-1400, and last but not least, reading Wallace.

"Yeah, and how is the Wallace book going?"

I am in Book Heaven. I wish I had gotten it a long time ago. I had a hunch that I might go for his non-fiction much better than his fiction. I doubt imagination is his greatest strength. But he is a writer's writer.

On the other hand, I am still only into the first essay (which is kind of more like a novella than a short story), and it is about attending the porn video awards. So ...

"Ah, so it might only be the topic."

It is right up my alley. But I am pretty sure that it is more than just the topic. I like his 'voice', though he actually comes across a bit puritanically. I don't know if we'd be best friends, but I'd definite like hanging out with him sometimes and hearing what he has to say.
