Elvis

"Oh, listening to some YouTube Elvis. That's the Hawaii concert, right?"

Yeah, 'Aloha'. When YouTube recommended it for me, I felt a little guilty for listening to so much Engelbert, that I felt move to go back to the king. And I am reminded why I became such a monomaniac for him. He does have a way about him. Not to mention some pretty damn good pipes. The Alpha wolf.

Maybe I should read the Gurlick biography again.

"The who biography?"

The definitive two-volume biography.

"Hmm, I never heard of a Gurlick before."

Doh, yeah, I mean Guralnick.

"You're kind of snail-crawling through enough books already, don't you think?"

Yeah, but what's one more? The more the merrier.

"Are you serioius?"

No, I don't think so. I have enough pots simmering already. More pots than burners really. Plus, I want to try some David Foster Wallace essays. I'll let my appetite for the Elvis bio grow a little stronger.

Toenails

"What do you keep digging out of your socks?"

Broken off bits of toenails. They can be a bit sharp and cut into my step.

"Maybe you should clip them, duh!"

I know. But I got to get in the spirit of the thing. I'm not really feeling it yet.

"I'm glad it's not that much trouble for you to take a bath."

Heh, I'm not that bad. I can handle once a week.
