Last night was 'fall back an hour' night. I knew it going to bed and regretted right away that this wasn't going to be one of those falls where I can really appreciate the extra hour: I'm pretty well rested. In fact, it would have been a good night for the 'spring forward' side of this Daylight Saving Time routine. ... All the cats -- all? That doesn't really sound right anymore. Both of the cats came in this morning, and remembering that rain was forecasted for today, I rushed to check, and, yes, it's even expected to come in during the morning. So, bingo, I will just keep the cats in now, and we don't have to deal with that worry any longer. ... It's a pretty smooth Sunday morning. I just have to put the big room back in shape for Pop and Victor's return today. The Cowboys have the early game at twelve; so, I'm figuring that they will make it back in time for that, even though that means an early-morning drive, I suppose, but I guess this is where the extra hour helps them. ... ... That was a good hard rain! The sun is bursting out now here and there, but we are apparently still in the middle of this weather system. ... ... They are back and just in time for the Cowboys game. Pop really does have a thing about that. But I guess that should be clear enough by virtue of the fact that he went to Shiner to watch a high school football game. Still, this is a post-retirement thing. He was not like this when I was growing up. He wouldn't even watch football, not even the Cowboys. Well, in retirement he had a new big hole in his life, and this is one of the ways he filled it. ... I am simply grateful: I didn't count on this extra trip, and then the extension of another day. I was complaining not long ago about not getting any lucky breaks in a while, but I won the jackpot with this Shiner trip. If I'm not in for a rude surprise, Victor should be leaving on Tuesday, which means he has only one more whole day here. He will be gone by Trash Day, though, alas, this is a Grocery Week and I will have to start the list, and ... what's her name? Ah, yes, Kay. Kay will be here. And, of course, it's not like the regular routine is heavenly: I will have to go back to suffering Pop's loud TV in the kitchen in the evenings, which really drives down the quality of my life, and for which I cannot think up a good answer. I can only hope that maybe he will take to going to bed early. ... By the way, the reason I got that extra day on their Shiner trip was because the TV-service was shot in their hotel room, and management gave them an extra night on the house. That surprises me a little, this being Shiner and Pop & Vic being brown men. It's another reminder that things aren't as bad as I like to imagine sometimes. I didn't fail in life because it's an evil world. ... ... I miss my Coco. I miss my Coco. So much.
