Pop returns from his weekend with Kay. As chipper as usual. Romance really is good for the heart, even very old hearts apparently. He comes with cinnamon rolls. He says these are the cinnamon rolls we have been looking for all our long lives. I am skeptical. He picked them up at Walmart. They are some sort of factory brand. Maybe they are one step above Hostess or Little Debbie or what have you. Maybe! Since I just had breakfast, I will not find out for myself until this evening, but my hopes are not soaring. I think Pop is just in love and everything tastes better.

Barely home from his weekend and Pop is back doing his home improvementy thing. The problem is that he seldom actually improves anything, and it is so much noise and hassle. Today he is set on replacing all the coverings he has on the patio table and the kitchen table, which is, like, about a half-dozen each. It feels like so much effort is spent to go backwards. His intentions are good, his energy level at 71 is admirable, but his know-how is like that of a slow twelve-year-old. And, sadly, I got all my know-how from him. But I don’t bother messing with things. Do no harm!, I always say.

I finally got around to washing my bedding, and despite that weirdly late cold front (although a much welcomed bit of wintry coolness), I think it is safe for me to finally fold up and put away Big Blue, the heavy blanket that Mother made for me. It’s a very good blanket. She had a little craft in her. It still keeps me warm in the winter.
