“'Consider the human brain ... If you look at the entire physical cosmos, our brains are a tiny, tiny part of it. But they’re the most perfectly organized part. Compared to the complexity of a brain, a galaxy is just an inert lump.”

-- Sir Roger Penrose

Of course, some brains are a little less perfectly organized than others, but it's looks that really count anyway.

Daimon says, "Then I guess you lose both ways - brains and looks."

But I'm funny.

"Unintentionally."

Sherlyn Chopra, a Bollywood film actor, will become the first woman from India to strip naked in Playboy.

The 28-year-old knockout wrote to the magazine and suggested the idea herself, the BBC reported. They got back to her within a few days to accept.

Fans will have to wait till the November issue circulates to get a glimpse of Chopra. A press conference earlier this week heralded the addition of a "Bollywood goddess" to the pantheon of beauties who've appeared on the pages of Hugh Hefner's magazine.

And look at Hefner still going for it! Through some strange wormhole in the universe, my dreams are transubstantiated into his real life. It isn't fair! Shouldn't I be able to have one dream for myself??

“Those whose intentions are not for God, they had better stay home, whereas if your intention is for God, then you go for jihad and you gain an afterlife and heaven.”

-- YouTube recruitment for jihadists against Syrian regime

The opening paragraph to the news article reads:

BEIRUT, Lebanon — As the uprising against President Bashar al-Assad’s government grinds on with no resolution in sight, Syrians involved in the armed struggle say it is becoming more radicalized: homegrown Muslim jihadists, as well as small groups of fighters from Al Qaeda, are taking a more prominent role and demanding a say in running the resistance.

As bad as Americans and Westerners may want to topple Assad, we see again that the other side is not really looking that good to our interests. And thus the whole Arab spring. There's just no winning, and that goes for the common people of these countries, because in the long run a deeper fall into the medievalist dark ages is no positive answer to their needs and aspirations. The Middle East is like a dark hole that promises to suck in and swallow the rest of us.
