"The Abstinence Teacher" arrived, after all, giving me a hard choice to make.
My first reaction: I have already put aside "The Vengeful Virgin" once after beginning it, so I'll just stick with it this time. I am a quarter of the way in. It's pretty short.
But then I started itching. I've grown fond of having my fun reading carry some serious mental oomph. And the weekend has just begun. A good time to begin a novel.
So far, I have repulsed the first urge to put down "Virgin" again, though the story hasn't really gripped me. I'm looking to stick with it. For now?

Well, that didn't last ten minutes. Ten? nay, not five minutes. It helps that "Virgin" is about a young hottie who wants to hasten the demise of her old man for his fortune, seducing a lusty man to help with the job. I suppose there will be a particularly interesting twist or two, but it is a tired story line - especially when you have a solid read on your desk waiting for you. And, "The Abstinence Teacher" is a great and absorbing read, which is obvious twenty pages in!
