“I’d like to make a great film provided it doesn’t conflict with my dinner reservation.”

-- Woody Allen

A new book is out "Conversations with Woody Allen". It brings back some of the feelings I had when Norman Mailer died. Here is a personality and artist that I have some recognition for, and maybe even some appreciation from what little familiarity I have, and I feel some interest to dig into the material, but my appreciation falls short of provoking the level of arousal that I would need to actually start reading. Like if I had a second lifetime to devote to reading, they would be on the top of the list for that second life, or at least not too far from the top. If I were the type of person who could read a book a day, I might dig in, but that's not me, and my reading list is already long. Indeed, this review reminded me that I want to get to "Madame Bovary" this winter, making for a crowded winter.
