The Ninth Gate
♠
"The Ninth Gate" is airing on the IFC. It still feels deliciously cozy, being pulled into that universe of books. You want to hold the old books yourself and flip through the pages. You can practically smell the fine, aged book paper.
I was going to tape it, but ended up being reminded that I tried that before, learning again that the movie is over two hours. It only occurs to me now that I could have just taped it on SLP or four-hour mode, without really losing anything in the translation. Still, if I ever have the extra money to invest in my modest DVD collection, "The Ninth Gate" is definitely near the top of the list.
