A Cold Monday Morning

I thought it was a bit nippy this morning as I shut off the ceiling fan in the wee hours. I knew a cold front was suppose to be blowing in, though in September I can only think of it as a cooling front. I eagerly checked the thermometer upon getting up, and I was surprised to see that not only did the temperature fall into the sixties, which is a zone one has been hoping to get back into, it almost dropped clear into the fifties, settling at sixty-two. That’s almost a tad cold!

When I got the newspaper, I checked the side of the house, and although it is muddier than I would like, I couldn’t deny the cats the chance to get in on some of this invigorating weather, and they took to it like kids on Christmas morning.
