First Watering

A patch of the front lawn has started browning. While Monk went to water the Neumanns' plants, he watered that area. The birds were a big factor. This is the first watering of the summer. With this being August it's not so bad, but...

These are brutal days. These are centigrade days when you go by the heat index. Last week, we had a couple of only the lightest and briefest showers.

It was nice to see a couple of birds availing themselves of this oasis, watching one swooping into the fountain of water. Whether this actually helps the latest generation of baby birdies in the nest is doubtful. It would be nice to see this smaller batch at least make it to adulthood, like the previous batches...

When I went out to water stuff yesterday evening, it started spitting. Not raining, nor even drizzling--just spitting. I thought it might progress to some proper rain, but it never did. . . . So it's a good thing I watered, eh?

Please, I cannot accept that responsibility. I'm afraid this is an especially hard time to be trying to get off a batch of birdies, but they are trying - and I feel a little sorry for them. But I cannot be much more than a spectator - as with much of life!

Heh heh, cute! I suppose it is a fine line in my case. Ultimately, I suppose the answer depends on what mood I'm in.

When reading nasty_toons, it is definitely more the voyeur! More fun that way...
