Feb. 7th, 2019 09:51 pmAnother blurty-wrap. I'm not feeling very inspired in my writing these days.
Weatherwise, we are going wintry again with temperatures expected to fall into the thirties. Over the past three, four nights, we have taken some more light rains with our warmer weather. Colder means dryer, it seems.
. . .
I recorded Trump's State of the Union speech, since it aired over Maddow's and O'Donnell's shows. I had it playing as I was making my lunch, and Arthudo saw some of this as he came into the kitchen to take his medications. Then, I noticed, he went to his office and played the speech on his computer. He seems to have a real hero-worship for Trump. Why, why, why? He also liked Dubya, if not quite as much, while he loathed Obama and Clinton. He seems to have a natural aversion for intellection while fancying the empty-headed blowhards. He is not weird in that, I'm afraid. Simple-minded people seem to feel a natural distrust for anyone who logically speaks in well-informed paragraphs. Maybe it's because they cannot follow and understand them, and in their insecurity they perhaps feel bullied by such demonstrations of intelligence and education. Simple-minded people, when they speak, perhaps sound to them more like leaders speaking honestly from the heart.
. . .
I seem to be shifting more and more into an audiobook kind of guy. When I'm tired of reading, I will now sit in Arthudo's recliner and crank up the stereo volume for an audiobook. I can see this become my main occupation of the day, to just sit down and close my eyes and listen to a book. I'm not near point that yet, but I think I could take to it, especially as I age and have less energy.
