Pop is spending Christmas at Jack & Jill's, like Thanksgiving. And, also like Thanksgiving, I got some turkey and dressing. The Canadians are right about our Thanksgiving and Christmas being too close together, at least if we insist on celebrating them both with turkey & dressing. The meal would be better the second time around if there were a couple of months between them. Even better, we should move our Thanksgiving to September. That would make the Christmas turkey less like a repeat and more like a second treat.

When Arthudo returns, he says, "I got some cookies." I said 'okay' but I probably failed to put any cheer into it. In my ears it sounds like a threat. Stale, ill-baked affairs. How to sneak them into the trash without hurting anybody's feelings?
