“A rabbit makes no sound in all its life, except, in the moment of violent death, a rabbit can scream.”

-- Emily Ruskovich

Hmm, I don't know how true that is, but it's an evocative proposition.

When doves cry and rabbits scream and swans sing.

Twitter news: "We're expanding the character limit! We want it to be easier and faster for everyone to express themselves. More characters. More expression. More of what's happening."

David Frum comments, “What is writ with ease is seldom read with pleasure.”

Heh, yeah, that also explains the problem with 'stream of consciousness' writing.

Trump's candidates are losing pretty big in Virginia. It's a pleasant vindication for normalcy, I guess. I actually feel some ambivalence. Giving my colossal failure, I kind of want to see it all burn down, as though it would be a sort of vindication for me - see how evil the country is! But I am not so lost that I am unable to appreciate a showing of political health. The old republic still has some life in her.

A lot of people are looking upon these results as vindication for the proposition that Trump's victory was more about the anti-Hillary vote than it was a pro-Trump vote. The idea, I guess, is that if the Democrats had nominated just about anyone else, such as Bernie, then we never would have suffered the pumped up volume and activism of the marginal white supremacists. I don't know, though. That might be too optimistic.
