Political bombshell: Trump fired Comey. It has some of that air of Nixon's Saturday Night Massacre. This makes me miss having a cozy and friendly Internet forum where I could hash this out with some familiar e-buddies. As far as this Trump drama goes, with the Republicans in control of the House and the Senate and who have fallen in line behind the man in his pursuit of plutocratic heaven, it is not clear how this goes beyond merely provoking a lot of media heat. There is certainly no one to give it the Benghazi treatment. I am reminded of Trump's old joke on the campaign trail that he could shoot somebody at Time Square in broad daylight and get away with it. It looks like he is seeking to prove that point.
