The New York Times announces that it will no longer capitalize the term ‘Internet’. They observe that it is has become increasingly common to forgo this capitalization, and they are going to go along with that flow. I doubt that I will follow suit myself. Even though the Internet has now come to be such a common and ubiquitous part of our world, as familiar as electricity and air, I am sure that I will never cease to feel the awe that I originally felt when I first clicked onto the Internet: it was not merely a new form of communication, but a whole new world.

Home Life

Wow, it has turned into a lovely sunny afternoon, but they are still calling for bad storms tonight. Checking the long-term forecast, not only is this weather system expected to last through the weekend, but it is likely to go into next week as well. It's really amazing.

The grass is wildly tall, but I cannot get in there to mow. It's sunny now, but there is too much water on top that has yet to soak into the heavily saturated ground. Crazy. And then there are the cats, of course. They aren't happy, and when they are not happy, they make sure you feel their pain - especially when you are trying to sleep. They are natural masters at psychological warfare.
