Grocery Week
Dec. 9th, 2015 03:59 pmIt's already four o'clock in the afternoon, and I only have one line done on the grocery list. I really do seem to be getting worse and worse, even when it comes to the littlest of chores. Why can't I just be left alone to read and blog? Preparing my meals and going to the bathroom seem like work enough for me.
An unorthodox evening. Pop came home with some good-looking ground beef patties. Good timing! A burger is just what I needed tonight. I have late dinners these days, with nine being a good time for me. Unsurprisingly, Pop has been coming to fancy that time as well. This is not a big surprise. Remember, many moons ago, I liked to have dinner at seven. Then, what do you know, Pop kind of felt that was an ideal time, and he would take over the kitchen at six-thirty. He is very Arthudo that way. It is as though we are still small children and he is my little brother who naturally and instinctively seeks to imitate his older brother without even really being conscious of it. Well, when he had not started to cook by eight o'clock, I decided that I should go ahead and begin, because I did not want to be left to have to start cooking at ten or later.
Of course, I could go back to seven, but I have come to like my six o'clock snack with the late dinner. If I have a late snack, a late dessert, it tends to settle uneasily in my stomach for bedtime. Moreover, with my new routine, I don't have to worry about starting to feel hungry at around eleven, when I might prefer to go to bed.
