Casanova gives us the early bound for his memoirs.

_ _ _

The history of my life must begin by the earliest circumstance which my memory can evoke; it will therefore commence when I had attained the age of eight years and four months. Before that time, if to think is to live be a true axiom, I did not live, I could only lay claim to a state of vegetation. The mind of a human being is formed only of comparisons made in order to examine analogies, and therefore cannot precede the existence of memory. The mnemonic organ was developed in my head only eight years and four months after my birth; it is then that my soul began to be susceptible of receiving impressions.

Oh, come on, there are a lot worse things than being a nine-to-fiver. We cannot all be talented rock stars.

Charles Manson can't get a break.

CBS/AP) CORCORAN, Calif. - A California prison panel has denied parole to Charles Manson in his 12th bid for freedom.

Wednesday's hearing at Corcoran State Prison could be the last one for the aging mass murderer. Under current law, inmates can be denied the chance to reapply for parole for up to 15 years. Manson could be 92 before he gets another opportunity to make his case.

Now a gray-bearded 77-year-old, Manson did not attend the hearing, which may have been his final chance to ask for freedom.

"At this age, I think he doesn't care," said Deputy District Attorney Patrick Sequeira, who was expected to argue Wednesday against Manson's release. "He would be lost if he got out. He's completely institutionalized."

I suppose he is lucky that he was not subject to the death penalty.

Pastor Rick Warren, a leading Evangel who has even hosted a debate with presidential contenders, if I recall correctly, speaks to the question whether dogs, after all, can go to heaven.

_ _ _

Absolutely yes. I can't imagine God not allowing my dog into heaven. Cats, too, why not?

People miss heaven because of their rebellion against God's offer of love, by rejecting Jesus. But dogs, which have no ability to sin nor moral conscience, do not have an ability to reject Jesus.

It is the same principle as a baby, young child or mentally challenged individual. The Bible calls them "safe," not "saved." In Proverbs we read, "The Lord preserves the simple," which includes persons without the ability, capacity or moral conscience to reject Jesus."

Amen. I'll see you there, Bo!

Big, deep voice from above: "NOT SO FAST!"
