I know, I’m late this morning. You’re not going to believe what I did.

First thing, I was a little riled upon waking up, because when I finally get a good sleep that lasts till seven, it would be my watering day, the one day when I really need that extra twenty minutes.

I rush out to start the sprinkler in the front yard, but as I am setting the sprinkler, I notice that it is not just a little cloudy this morning, it is thickly overcast, like it might even rain. Of course, I wasn’t expecting it to start raining any time this century, but I was ready to seize a good mowing opportunity.

I even got all three cats inside at once for breakfast. Okay, Ash was playing coy, but she still came in within the minute on her own. My opportunity couldn’t be clearer if God shouted down, “Well, are you going to fucking mow or what?”

A pretty comfy mow in the middle of August in the middle of an historic heatwave. Was I missing my chances in previous years, too set on the idea of the evening mow? Maybe not. As I recall, the grass would often be drenched in dew in the early morning hours. Maybe this year is just so dry, we aren’t even getting dew, and I am able to enjoy a little compensation for this wretched heat in the way of a more convenient morning mow.

Apparently, sitting down and playing on your computer for an inordinate length of time can be deadly, and not just to your social life. I suppose I'm fortunate in that I am too restless an individual to stay seated for much time at all, as I often have to pace around and daydream. It's not that I do much gaming at all, not since these games are so terribly limited in their sexual content, but I might have keeled over years ago in a case of death by blogging, and I don't just mean by those who would've liked to reach across the Internet to strangle me and watch me face change colors.

The advanced hacking group Anonymous has announced that their new target is the social-media giant Facebook, which the group has accused of misusing private data, not respecting users' privacy and co-operating with clandestine government agencies and security companies.

Anonymous stated its belief that Facebook was selling the private information of users to the governments of Egypt and Syria - and the latter's defence ministry website was hacked by the undercover group on 8 August.

The hacking group alerted users to "prepare for the post-Facebook reality", telling the world to "prepare for a day that will go down in history - 5 November 2011", when the group has said it will take the social networking site down.

I might be cheering, since I sort of project onto Facebook all my woes with e-life, which is absurd, I know, however, after those DDoS attacks against LiveJournal, shutting us down for days at a time, I have developed a sympathy for such victims. Besides, people would just flock faster to Google's new social network rather than return to LJ.

I got maybe a few minutes of decent dozing time, if I was lucky.

Sammy wanted to play alarm clock again. And after all the things I do for them.

The cute get away with murder.

“Everything that needs to be said has already been said. But since no one was listening, everything must be said again.”

-- John Barth at The Atlantic

I rather live by that. I don't mind giving play to the same old songs, so to speak, time and time again. It's also why I like to reread books. I forget too much, seldom ever able to hold onto some little treasure that touched my sensibilities in some sweet or sorrowful way. It can be tiresome to those who have better memories, but I guess that's one reason why I don't have many friends. I can be like a worn out record in a world that doesn't even know what records are anymore.

"Lack of privacy is faintly aggravating, particularly if you have a salacious private life, which I hope most people have. We only live once."

-- Jeremy Irons

Humbert Humbert is getting a little on in years. I watched the premiere episode of his "Borgias" serious, but although I appreciated it's attempt to be freely sexual and raw, It didn't keep my interest, though I am glad that the show is a success, if only to reward him for his wonderful philosophy about fanny-patting.
