Oh my, this is looking rather "Story of O-ish". I may have to keep an eye on this movie.

Maybe I should've watched the White House Correspondents' Dinner. Obama apparently unloaded. In this clip, he rips Donald Trump, who has been gesturing to make a run for the presidency, and doing so in the most classless manner by taking the lead on the birth certificate issue, and who has taken to challenging how Obama could've got into Harvard, demanding now to see his grades. I guess Obama has some fight when he takes a notion, but perhaps that shouldn't be surprising. How do you rise in Chicago politics and then go on to win the Presidency unless you're a little tough and can throw a mean punch. Here are a few good punches.

Now I wonder if Trump has the mauxy to come out and respond aggressively when he is asked about Obama's remarks, "I know that I've been coming after Obama pretty hard. So, I understand if he's a little butt-hurt." It's not like Trump would need to sink down a level or two, as this has been the level of his rhetoric, even using the term 'motherfucker' on one of his stump speeches. It's amazing how one can be so rich and remain untouched by eloquence and class.

A Dream

It has been too long since I have enjoyed a dream that is a bit extended in duration as well as vivid and coherent in content. I’m in a restaurant with two young women. I may be young, too, as this seems to be one of those dreams that takes me back to my college years. They are white middle-class women. The place seems to be a sort of upscale Taco Bell.

The girls finish eating a little ahead of me, and they immediately get up and leave. I still have about a couple of bites of a taco left to finish, and I just stuff it in my mouth and begin to rise to hurry after them, but before I even stand up fully, I decided against playing the role of the little Chihuahua dog and sat back down. I shouted toward them that they could go on, and that I would find my own way back to U.T. and waved them on.

As I sat alone, though, I started worrying about how exactly was I going to make my way back, but I wasn’t worrying long when the girls had their own change of heart and came back. One came back to the booth and started some small talk. I was relieved they came back and I enthusiastically listened, wanting to make a real conversation out of this, wanting desperately to say something witty and clever, but I remained wholly dumb and silent, like a little boy who simply isn’t up to an adult conversation. I finally said that I was ready, and she made sure, “Are you ready to go?” I said yes and we left the table.
