Seeing the green circle of bloom around the trees out back, I am satisfied that the trees are well-watered enough now, and I can forget about them for a few weeks, even if the drought does go and on, stripping us entirely of our spring rains.

I guess I love that idea of Paradise Found and Paradise Lost, even as I waste away wishing for it, if just to have it for a moment, to know I had it and was worthy. But I don't look like Leonardo DiCaprio. No pretty French girls for me.
