Seeing Ash and Willy lying down beside each other in the grass near the patio, I wonder whether it is even possible for socialized cats to mix well with feral cats. Does the human contact change something fundamental in feline psychology? It's not like Ash and Willy are family pets and house cats. They still live wildly outside in the blaze of summer and the chill of winter. They are only receptive to and desirous of petting.

I remember when Ash and Willy actually seemed to desire companionship with Calico, but Calico would have none of it, tolerating them at best. But Ash and Willy were much more juvenile then, too, having been orphaned not long beforehand.
