Willard has become the more aggressive in pursuing my attention and affections. Maybe that is because he is the male, and therefore generally more aggressive about getting what he wants, whereas Ashes is simply fashionably shy and demure.
It seems I fall for anyone that will love me. Willard is the spitting image of Mother Grey, as were his two late siblings, who were all termed the Willards for being ratty grey. The least desirable of the cats we've harbored. But Willard is now my favorite.
I think I'll keep the name and enjoy the irony in it. I only wish that I could more fully domesticate him and Ashes. They are so open to that move now, and if we later gain the capacity to do this, they will probably be too wild to be house cats by then.
