“The computer revolution has bred a generation of smart loners, many of them rich and some of them complacently Darwinian, convinced that they don't need society--nor should anyone else. They are going to be an increasingly powerful force in politics”
-- Michael Kinsley for Time
Cute. Taken by itself, that quote can sound a little personal.
Actually, that line is in the context of Ron Paul's ability to draw some real financial support over the Internet, and what Mr. Kinsley considers to be the rising of libertarianism. Judging by his tone, he seems to see this as more of a devolution.
I just like the quote myself. I don't know how powerful these losers who have found their voice on the Internet will be, but I think it is true that we have been seeing a new creature walking on the earth, or at least typing in cyberspace. But we are more about the deviant porn.
