I can hardly believe that Monk has installed that chess game. However, in installing it and refamiliarizing himself with the controls, he feels some of the excitement of getting a new present on Christmas - a nap was out of the question, though he tried.
He is wondering if he might have found something that is equivalent to what he knows as 'fun' levels. He cannot recall finding simpler players among the available profiles before, but now he is trying cute little blonde Cassie:
I suspect Scrabble is where it's at. Monk can play with letter blocks and even learn some nice words. He could even learn something from Cassie!

Cassie likes to make things. Though she and her friends own a lot of dolls, Cassie rarely plays with hers. She just makes things for them, like clothes, houses, and furniture. She really likes the chess pieces in her parents` chess set and decided to make a big chess set of her own out of papier maché. Her mom is teaching her how to play chess so when her new pieces are finished, she can play chess with them. She even sounds sexy in a Monkish-exploitative kind of way, doesn't she? Like she will joyfully follow you for your promise of candy. Maybe there is something here, but Monk is in the middle of his first game with her, and although she is not knocking him over, she seems to move pretty fast and with some competence. I am not sure that Monk is going to win, and Cassie is the lowest player on call.
I suspect Scrabble is where it's at. Monk can play with letter blocks and even learn some nice words. He could even learn something from Cassie!
