Old Time Religion in the Third World

In a twist, these wealthy American congregations are essentially putting themselves up for adoption by Anglican archbishops in poorer dioceses in Africa, Asia and Latin America who share conservative theological views about homosexuality and the interpretation of Scripture with the breakaway Americans.

As the paleo-conservative Episcopalians splinter off, I cannot help finding it amusing that they would prefer to associate with Third World churches, while finding it reassuring that such values are more Third World than First World. I also wonder whether this also shows how far we have advanced in race relations that race is not a problem for even paleo-conservatives, preferring to jump into 'bed' with them, so to speak.
