Despair and Little Joys

There are some days in which one feels that we are more fucked than on others.
With Iraq falling into civil war, it is nice to know that our secretary of state is not being distracted from her physical conditioning. A leader is gifted with an uncanny sense of priorities:
Condi in Charge
On the same day, one gets to enjoy proof on video of our president's own uncanny sense of responsibility and can-do skills, as demonstrated so forcefully by the Katrina catastrophe:
Bush in Charge
Then this day in news is taken to new stellar heights with the report of Justice Alito's personal 'thank you' note to uber-Christian fundie James Dobson, promising to be mindful of what got him to the Supreme Court, for life.
Sometimes it can feel like we are racing off the cliff into happy oblivion, to be free from our cares once and for all. Though, one can be overly negative. Today, we also got some Lindsay Lohan tit! The little joys are what make life worth living.
