Fun with LJ Design

Monk has finally stepped into the world of S2 designs for LiveJournal, however unsure and nervously. It started innocently enough...
After failing to download Google Earth, in his disappointment he was moping around LJ, and started thinking about the old desire to be able to access old entries more conveniently than having to plough through the calendar month by month.
Before delving into the fancy new tricks with "tags," he played around with that search icon in the profile page, and he was happy to see that the search service has been changed, and that it looked very promising. His first obstacle was that he had blocked "spiders" from indexing his journal. After overcoming that, though, he stumbles into another round of disappointments when he sees that this is only good for public entries.
It was time to explore the new world of tags. This was when he discovered that one cannot use tags with S1 styles. All in all, this was looking like a depressing day.
However, upon exploring the possbilities of S2 anew, he learns that LJ evidently made this easier and better as well, even simplifying some of the basic overrides. Monk spent a good part of the afternoon just clicking through the styles and themes. For now, he has settled on their first option: Three column. He actually overlooked this somehow at first, and he was disappointed by the other selections, and he certainly does not have the skill to customize an original style.
In the end, Monk is fairly content and all is well in e-life again.
(Neverthemore, all the past is untagged. *sigh*)
xXx
