Sex Clinics and Flavored Condoms

After these years of staying in the house, save for the odd trip with Simple Tree to the vet or that one time to get a Whataburger, Monk ventured out and rode the busses to go downtown.
A few changes were to be noticed. The pedestrian lights now give a countdown before the final stop. Vending machines do not sell the twelve-ounce cans of soda but the twenty-ounce bottles. Less subtly, Via is weening off the Kelly-Lackland Park & Ride for a new Kel-Lac Transit Center, which is more pedestrian-friendly in terms of being readily accessible to a nearby mall.
The main accomplishment was to get tested for sexually transmitted diseases, especially HIV. It did turn out to be essentially a pick-a-number-and-get-processed routine. They do not seem to be pressing for money. This is a relief after reading the Health Center's webpage, which suggested a more cumbersome and costly trial. Cutely, needing an alternative contact address, Monk put down Meredith's number and address.
Upon returning home, Monk sees that Meredith called. He is excited enough that he asks Tree if he can use five of his 'anytime minutes,' to which he agrees. Not being familiar with the number, Meredith does not answer but she calls back before Monk even hangs up the cellphone.
Monk's reward for his ventures is her recounting of how she told Keith, her gay neighbor, that she will be needing a condom, asking for any advice about what to get, say, for oral sex. He recommends a flavored condom. Monk begins to protest, wanting to remind her that she said she would give him head without a condom, but she cuts him off, "I know. I was just kidding with him."
Feeling embarrassed about the lenghtening silences and not being quick enough to think of more interesting things to say, he offers to spare her more of her 'anytime minutes' in favor of waiting until tonight. He giddily closes, "That was exciting." With a smiling tone she says, "I would think so."
___ ___ ___
Meredith says, "I got the ultra-sensitive condoms. So, that means I'll be able to feel you better."
